Composite Bonding
Composite bonding is a popular treatment used to change the size, shape and colour of your teeth. Whether you want to create more uniformity in your smile, fill any undesired gaps or repair discoloured / chipped teeth, composite bonding treatment can give you the confidence to smile again.
During the treatment procedure white filling material is applied over the surface of the tooth (or teeth) in order to achieve your desired look. Unlike other cosmetic procedures, with composite bonding there is no alteration or preparation of the tooth (such as shaving down). Composite bonding treatment is therefore minimally invasive and can be changed in the future.
Veneers
Porcelain Veneers are a very popular cosmetic treatment option enabling you to change the size, shape and colour of your teeth to create the smile you have always dreamed of.
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain used to cover the front surface of the tooth or teeth. Veneers are created in a dental lab and are a permanent way of changing or enhancing the look of stained, chipped or broken teeth with minimal tooth preparation. We are delighted to work closely with one of the country’s most advanced dental labs who are able to make natural looking, beautiful veneers. Opting for Porcelain Veneers allows you to dramatically improve the appearance of your smile with a long term aesthetic and functional solution, strong enough to stand the test of time.
Veneer treatment is completed over two appointments. The first appointment allows the dentist to take a mould of your natural teeth, to work out where the veneers will fit and what they should look like. Usually, a small amount of enamel will need to be removed from the teeth that are to be treated so that the new veneers will not stand out from the rest of your smile. The next appointment usually takes place less than two weeks after the first, and this is where the finished veneers will be applied to your teeth with dental cement.
You will be consulted at every stage of your smile makeover journey from initial consultation to final fit. We have invested in the latest technology including intra-oral scanners / smile transformation software and are able to produce ‘study models’ allowing you to try out your new smile before it is permanently fitted.
Crowns
A dental crown is a bespoke, tooth-shaped piece of ceramic designed to fit over the outside of your existing tooth. Crowns are the perfect long-term solution for restoring teeth that have fractured, been weakened by decay or have become discoloured by an existing filling.
Appearance-wise they are indistinguishable from a real tooth. Your Dentist will be able to create a crown that blends flawlessly with the rest of your mouth. Working closely with our dental laboratory we are able to provide custom made ceramic (tooth coloured) crowns or gold crowns depending on your preference.
The crown process is straightforward and is usually completed over two visits. During the first visit your dentist will remove any weakened parts of the tooth and ‘prepare’ it so it is equipped to hold the crown. Your Dentist will then take an impression (to enable the lab to make your bespoke crown) and fit a temporary crown in the interim period. At your second visit your Dentist will remove the temporary crown and cement the new crown in place, ensuring it sits comfortably alongside the rest of your teeth.
Bridges
Bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth – they ‘bridge’ the gap where the tooth or teeth are missing. There are two main types of dental bridge. The most common type consists of two crowns, made of porcelain or metal, which are permanently bonded to your natural teeth either side of the space, with the false tooth (or teeth) in the middle. If the teeth either side of your missing teeth are strong and healthy, you may be able to have an adhesive bridge. An adhesive bridge is a false tooth with ‘wings’ either side of it. These wings are bonded to the inner surfaces of the supporting teeth. This avoids the need to prepare the neighbouring teeth for full coverage crowns. There are alternative ways to replace missing teeth including dentures and Dental Implants. It’s important to explore all the options and your Dentist will help you decide which is the best option for you.
