At Pontefract Dental Care we offer a range of different types of dentures and it is our mission to find the right denture solution for you.

Whether you are looking for new dentures or want to make changes to your existing dentures our Clinical Dental Technician James Kitchingman is here to solve your denture problems.

For patients considering dentures for the first time we are able to guide you through the process of choosing your dentures and ensure we create a beautiful bespoke solution that will allow you to eat comfortably, speak clearly and smile confidently. For existing denture wearers we are on hand to help with any issues you may have around current fit or appearance.

It may be that as time goes on you are looking to stablise your dentures further (especially common with lower denture wearers) and we are delighted to be able to offer implant retained dentures, working closely with our practice Implantologist, Dr John Maguire.

We know how important it is that your dentures fit and function with you and your lifestyle.

Our Clinical Denture Technicians (CTD) work closely with our Dentists and Implantologists to ensure that we create a solution as close in appearance to your natural teeth as possible whilst providing excellent function when eating and speaking. Your dentures should become part of you and using the latest technology and materials available (as well as the best CDT’s in the business) we endeavour to restore your confidence following the loss of your natural teeth.

Dentures explained

Which dentures are right for me?

We are delighted to offer free denture consultations during which we can discuss the right denture option for you based on our clinical assessment and your preference / budget.

Our denture services include a comprehensive range of full or partial dentures tailored to your requirements and budget. We are also able to offer more complex denture solutions such as Implant Retained Dentures where dental implants are surgically placed into the jawbone and the denture is later anchored to these implants.

If you do have some natural teeth remaining and require a partial denture you will, in the first instance, be examined properly by one of our Dentists who will ensure you are dentally fit to embark on your denture journey. It is fundamental that your remaining teeth and gums are in good condition and provide enough stability for the partial denture to be successful. We offer a range of partial dentures and our expert Clinical Dental Technicians will guide and advise you as to the best option given your particular case.

Why chose us?

By choosing us to create your new dentures you will benefit from the experience and expertise of our Clinical Dental Technician James Kitchingman. Your dentures are individually designed using modern techniques and the best materials available. Following your initial consultation, you could be fitted with natural-looking dentures within just six weeks.

FAQs

Our partial dentures start from £900 and our full dentures start from £1260 (per arch) and £1895 (per set). Implant retained dentures are priced following consultation.
Dental Implants and Dentures are both common solutions for missing teeth. Prior to any treatment, you will have a detailed consultation / clinical assessment with your Dentist / Clinical Dental Technician who will advise on your treatment options bearing in mind your preference and budget. Dental Implant treatment is a complex surgical procedure, meaning it’s usually a more expensive solution than dentures. Dental Implant treatment can take up to 6 months to complete whereas your denture journey can be completed in just 6 weeks. There are some anatomical / lifestyle factors that may make you unsuitable for Dental Implants which will be discussed at your consultation.
Dentures stay in place by either being tissue supported dentures, tooth supported dentures or implant assisted dentures. A combination of a well fitting denture, good saliva flow and neuro-muscular control aid the dentures ability to stay in place. Complete dentures rely on the gums to retain the dentures which gives a high success of denture stability, whereas partial dentures can have small metal clasps to fix to remaining teeth. Some patients may unfortunately need to use adhesives due to unfavourable anatomy or prefer the feel of something feeling more secure, which is where implants can really help. Ask your dentist for more details.
Maintaining clean dentures can help to ensure the lifespan of your denture is maximised, remains odour free and helps to keep the rest of your mouth clean and healthy. We recommend using a soft toothbrush with hand dispensed soap over a basin of water (to prevent dentures breaking if being dropped.) Remove the denture from your mouth, clean your own natural teeth first, then clean your denture in your hands. Denture creams are also available or other cleansing solution products, however a good soft toothbrush and soap is more than adequate. It's really important to remember to remove your denture on a night before going to bed to allow your soft tissues to breathe and recover.
We are no longer registering new patients on the NHS. NHS dentures are available to our current NHS patients where needed and clinically justified. The information on this page relates to our private denture services.
