Unfortunately by using these products your tooth discolouration just won’t go away and you will need a professional teeth whitening system to remove surface stains and enhance your tooth colour. If you are considering other cosmetic treatments such as composite bonding or porcelain veneers, teeth whitening may be recommended as part of an overall treatment package. Your Dentist may also advise that stain removal treatment (such as ‘Airflow’) is used in conjunction with teeth whitening treatment.
The Teeth Whitening Process
Your initial consultation will take around 30 minutes and at this appointment we will take impressions or a digital scan of your teeth. This will be sent off to our lab in order to create your bespoke whitening trays. These clear whitening trays are used to hold the whitening gel against your teeth. Around two weeks later your whitening trays will be ready to collect and you will attend for your second appointment. Your Dentist will check that your whitening trays fit and feel comfortable and will give you a demonstration of how to use the whitening gels which you can take home with you. With ‘Boutique by Night’ your whitening trays and gels are used each night when you go to sleep for 2-3 weeks. With ‘Boutique by Day’, your whitening trays and gels are used for 1-2 hours per day for two to three weeks. Results can be seen within as little as two days but we advise that you will see a real shade change after 2-3 weeks. You can expect to see an improvement of up to two colour shades (depending on your lifestyle and the original colour of your teeth).
Our Boutique Product Range
We are able to offer a wide range of whitening gels tailored to our patient’s needs. ‘Boutique by Day’ whitening gel contains 6% hydrogen peroxide and is designed for people who want great results in minimum wear time. Boutique by Day is proven to whiten teeth in as little as 1.5 hours wear time per day.
‘Boutique by Night’ whitening gel contains 16% carbamide peroxide and is designed for people who want great results without the inconvenience of wearing trays during the day. The ‘Night’ system is our maximum strength formula, proven to whiten teeth whilst you sleep.
