Invisalign treatment is a discreet orthodontic treatment that safely and subtly improves the position of your teeth using a series of bespoke clear aligners. Invisalign’s clear aligner system is an innovative treatment method offering you the same results as metal braces but with more comfort and convenience.

Most people associate ‘teeth straightening’ with traditional metal braces, lengthy treatment times and limited food choices. With Invisalign you can continue to eat and drink the foods you love and most importantly, clean your teeth properly! Invisalign Explained

Step 1 – Consultation

Your first appointment will be a detailed consultation to discuss what you are trying to achieve with Invisalign treatment. Your Dentist will complete a general examination of your teeth and gums to ensure you are dentally healthy to proceed with treatment.

Impressions of your teeth are taken with our state-of-the-art intra-oral scanner (replacing the need for traditional putty impressions).

Your digital scan along with pre-treatment photographs enables us to create a bespoke, digital treatment plan, mapping out the exact movements of your teeth at each stage of your treatment.

 

Step 2 – Fit

When you and your Dentist are happy with your treatment plan, your ‘fit’ appointment will be scheduled and your aligners ordered. At your fit appointment your aligners will be ready and waiting for you to try and finally your new smile journey can begin. Your Dentist may fit small attachments on your teeth to help the aligners stay in place. The attachments are near invisible, painless to fit and temporary . Reviews will be scheduled every four weeks and your aligners are changed every 7-14 days, safely moving your teeth towards the projected final position.

 

Step 3 – Final Touches

When you come to the end of your Invisalign treatment you may wish to consider brightening and lightening the colour of your teeth with Teeth Whitening or adjusting shape or tooth uniformity with composite bonding. We are able to offer a range of cosmetic treatments to perfect your smile.

FAQs

Invisalign treatment is suitable for the majority of patients. You must be dentally healthy to have treatment (this usually means you have had a check-up in the last 12 months and you do not have any treatment needed that is outstanding. All adult teeth must be fully erupted and you must be aged 16 and over. If you are currently pregnant we advise that you wait until you have had your baby until commencing treatment as pre-treatment x-rays are required. If your case is deemed complex, you may be advised to see a specialist orthodontist.
Invisalign takes approximately 12-18 months however, depending on the complexity of your case, you could complete your treatment in as little as 3 - 6 months! You will start to see results in a matter of weeks.
You should be wearing your aligners for around 23 hours per day to achieve the best results possible and stay on course with your treatment plan. Your aligners must be taken out for eating, drinking (except plain water) and for cleaning your teeth. Your aligners will not interfere with your speech, leaving you free to continue your day-to-day life as normal. The aligners are changed every 7-14 days, safely moving your teeth towards the projected final position.
Invisalign treatment should be pain free at every stage. You may feel some minor discomfort when you wear your aligners for the first time (and each time you wear a new aligner) but this will subside within 24 hours.
We are committed to keeping our pricing as competitive as possible. The cost of Invisalign treatment is dependent on the complexity of your case and the length of time your treatment will take to complete. Pricing is also dependent on whether you are having treatment on both your upper and lower teeth or just a single arch (upper or lower). Although only your Dentist can fully determine the cost of your treatment, prices range from £2900 for a single arch (upper or lower) to £4000 for dual arch (upper and lower). If minor tooth movement is required prices may be significantly lower. We are able to offer flexible treatment plans for patients requiring treatment for minor movement of specific teeth only.
A deposit of one third of the total treatment cost must be paid when you attend for your first aligner fit. We require the remaining two thirds of the total treatment cost to be paid by the end of your treatment (with patients often wishing to pay in stages throughout the course of their treatment). Finance options are available (including interest free finance over 12 months).
